NASHVILLE, Tenn. – An arson investigation is underway after a truck fire spread to a duplex in Hermitage overnight.
The blaze broke out around 2 a.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Monaco Drive. Neighbors alerted the family to the fire after seeing flames consuming a truck parking in the back of the duplex. It then quickly began spreading to the house.
The flames got into the attic, and one side of the duplex was destroyed.
Both families were able to get out safely, including children and pets.
Fire officials said the fire appears to be suspicious because it started in an idle truck. There was also another car fire at the nearby Hermitage Inn within the hour of this fire.
Investigators are looking to see whether these two are connected.
Police and arson investigators were still on the scene Tuesday morning.
