COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - A man has been charged with child endangerment after several children were possibly exposed to the dangerous chemicals used to make methamphetamine
Acting on a tip, Cookeville police busted a meth-making operation in an apartment complex on Cooke Street. They discovered everything needed to manufacture the drug, plus a supply of freshly made meth.
They also discovered a four-year-old child in the apartment. A man was taken into custody, who was believed to be the child's father.
Toxic fumes were present. There was also concern about a family with small children living in the apartment next door.
The children will be checked for exposure to chemicals, and the apartment now needs to be decontaminated.
