TULLAHOMA, Tenn.- The hot,
dry weather has raised the threat of wildfires for the holiday. Tuesday, a
large grass fire raised concern near Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma.
According to officials at Arnold
Air Force Base, the fire was not in a residential area but an industrial area which
consists of about 4,000 acres. The fire was on the wooded portion of that land.
The other half of the industrial area is populated with machinery, but the fire did not damage any of it.
Officials at Arnold Air Force
Base said the fire did jump a fence, but Hillsboro and Tullahoma Fire
Departments were able to contain the blaze.
No one was injured as a result of Tuesday's fire.
