NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Metro Police need the public's help in recovering evidence from a murder in North Nashville.
Officials are looking for a .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol that they believe was used to kill William Stokes in North Nashville on Monday, July 2. Stokes was shot on Patton Hill Road near Village Trail. Stokes' alleged killer, Rico A. Boyce, was booked on a criminal homicide charge July 4 after turning himself in.
The gun in this case was never recovered. Police believe it was tossed behind a nearby boarded up home on Brickmont Court. Officers are concerned that the gun may have been picked up by a young person in the area.
Anyone who found this gun is not in trouble and was encouraged to contact police anonymously through Crime Stoppers, 74-CRIME. A reward is available for information leading to the recovery of the weapon.
