GAINESBORO, Tenn. - A woman was hospitalized after being struck by lightning during storms that rolled through Middle Tennessee Sunday.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Department said the 52-year-old woman's family took her to the hospital around 7 p.m. Sunday. She was expected to be ok.
There was no word on what the woman was doing at the time she was struck. Her identity was not released.
At the time, there were severe thunderstorm warnings issued in the area by the National Weather Service.
