Lightning Starts Fire At Vacant Home In Brentwood

Posted: Updated:

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Fire officials said lightning started a fire that damaged a home in Brentwood on Sunday night.

A lightning bolt struck the home in the 5800 block of Cloverland Drive around 10:30 p.m. A neighbor called 911 to report seeing heavy smoke coming from the home.

When fire crews got on the scene, they reported heavy flames. Firefighters said the blaze spread quickly to the attic, which hurt the chances of saving the house.

The home was vacant, so no one was hurt.
