MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Shelby County health officials are reporting the third heat-related death of the year.
The agency said in a news release that a 62-year-old woman was found in her home. She had a working air conditioner, but it was not turned on.
WMC-TV reported the temperature inside the home was 91 degrees when the woman was found last week. She had two fans running in the home, but not in the room she was found in.
Health officials said the cause of her death was due to other medical conditions, but the heat was listed as a factor in the death.
