Police Search For Indecent Exposure Suspect

Posted: Updated:

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – Police in Hopkinsville, Kentucky are searching for a man who broke into a home while naked.

A man who lives on Keeton Drive told police he woke after hearing someone moving inside his home. He went to look, even checking outside, but saw nothing suspicious.

He then walked back into his bedroom and found a long-haired, scruffy-looking man standing right next to his wife's side of the bed. The man was not wearing any clothes, and ran from the home.

Police said that man seemed to be in no hurry, checking door handles before trying to enter the home.

He then went to the home of Vicci Clodfelter. Clodfelter was home alone watching TV early Sunday morning when she saw a shadow and heard rustling outside a window. Clodfelter said she froze when someone tried to open the locked front door.

"It's just enough that you think 'did I hear something,'" said Clodfelter. "So, I opened the blind right there and his face is right there,"

Clodfelter said she screamed at the man and told him she was calling police. She said he made a lewd comment and then exposed himself to her, before running away.

"He's obviously looking for gratification somewhere. We don't want it to lead to getting into a home and hurting someone inside a home," said Hopkinsville Officer Paul Ray.

Detectives think the same man walked into another home through an unlocked door earlier in the evening and went into the bedroom reportedly exposing himself to the couple sleeping.

Detectives in Hopkinsville have called this a Code Red situation. They've notified citizens in the south Hopkinsville neighborhoods by reverse 911 warning them of the prowler.
