Police Chief’s Son Dies Of Injuries Sustained In Accident

WHITE BLUFF, Tenn.- The local police chief's son who was injured in a swimming accident has passed away.

Officials said that White Bluff Police Chief Mike Holman's son, 17-year-old Caleb Holman, died on Monday from the injuries he sustained in a swimming pool accident on July 4.

Caleb passed away at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after undergoing numerous treatments designed to reduce brain damage and swelling.

Caleb's close friends are still shocked by the news and say they are doing everything they can to help the Holman family through this tough time.

"When I think about Caleb, I think about all the good things he did for us," said friend Kelsee Harnar. "He was always a calm person.  I never saw him upset. He was always there for everybody."

Caleb was about to begin his senior year at Creekwood High School.  His friends described him as outgoing, supportive, and considerate.

"He was really funny," said friend Brooklyn Deloach. "He always made you smile, and laugh no matter what."

There are signs posted throughout the White Bluff community encouraging people to pray for, and support the Holman family.  Friends said that support will continue as long as its needed.

"White Bluff and around here is a really good supportive place," said Harnar. "You always have someone to uplift you all the time."

Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m., and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon at Taylor Funeral Home, then starting at 2 p.m. at White Bluff Church of Christ until time of service.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Friday at White Bluff Church of Christ.  Holman will be buried at the Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
