Attempted Kidnapping Suspect Indicted By Grand Jury

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn.- A Sumner County grand jury has indicted a man accused of targeting and sexually assaulting several young girls.

On Tuesday, a court indicted 28-year-old Celio Hathaway on three counts of sexual battery, and one count of attempted kidnapping. Hendersonville police said over the course of several weeks, Hathaway approached four girls, and grabbed them inappropriately. In one of those cases, he tried to force the victim into his truck.

Police caught him after he approached a 16-year-old girl outside of Demos' restaurant. She got away, and an assistant manager snapped a picture of his truck.

Hathaway has been in jail since arrest in March.
