DICKSON COUNTY, Tenn. – A man is presumed dead after an early morning house fire in Dickson County on Wednesday.

When firefighters got on the scene of the home on Loggins Road in Charlotte around 2:30 a.m., the home was fully involved. It took firefighters some time to fight the fire because they had to bring water in by tanker trucks since it was on a rural road.

Dickson County Sheriff's detectives said that a woman was able to escape the fire and call for help, but her husband was trapped inside.

The home was destroyed, and officials were trying to recover the man's body from the rubble.

The state bomb squad will be on the scene later Wednesday, as well as state Fire Marshals.  Fire officials said it could take days or weeks to determine the cause of the fire.

Several agencies from nearby cities assisted in the fire.Dickson County investigators said it could be some time before they're able to say how the fire started, or how the man died.

Two children live inside the home, but were fortunately not home at the time of the fire.
