NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two people have been arrested in connection with a meth lab bust in Joelton on Wednesday night.

38-year-old Michael Gwynne and 36-year-old Danielle Gwynne were charged with conspiring to manufacture methamphetamine and attempted promotion of meth manufacture. Authorities said they were arrested after officers learned from a national database the pair had gone to several stores to buy excessive amounts of cold medicine containing pseudoephedrine.

Pseudoephedrine is one of the main ingredients used to make methamphetamine.

Officers discovered a meth lab at a house on the 5700 block of Eaton Creek Road around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday night during the execution of a search warrant. They found organic solvents, components and chemicals commonly used in the manufacture of meth as well as a previously used cooking pot with residue.

The Gwynnes were decontaminated on the scene to ensure that no meth residue was on their bodies before they were booked.

Metro Fire Department, Tennessee Meth Task Force, DEA, and Metro detectives responded, and disposed of the chemicals.

Both were held on $22,000 bond.
