NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Hundreds of job seekers attended the fourth annual Safe & Sound Career Expo at Lipscomb University on Thursday morning.
It was the face-to-face interaction that drew job seekers and recruiters alike to Allen Arena for one of the largest career fairs in Middle Tennessee.
More than 40 companies, including Dell, Mapco Express, Jackson Insurance and Gaylord Hotels, were on hand.
Houston Taylor isn't looking for any job, but a new career, after losing his jobs when new technology outdated his skills.
"I'm trying to see what's out there, because it's been so long looking. I'm 50 years old, so I haven't been in the job market for a long time," he said.
Taylor was among nearly 1,500 people who were at the job fair.
Organizers said the next step is for candidates to follow-up with the employers they met.
