Fund Set Up For Five Kids Hurt In Louisville Wreck

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - An attorney said a fund has been set up for five children involved in the crash of a Louisville day care center van last month.

The wreck involving a van from Heavenly Angels Childcare Center killed one woman and injured the driver and 14 children.

Faduma Abdi, who had five children hurt in the crash, lost her job as a housekeeper for a Heavenly Angels location when the day care's three facilities closed.

Attorney Benjamin Taylor says Abdi can't afford the children's out-of-pocket medical expenses and is at risk of being evicted. The children's ages range from 8 months to 7 years.

Donations can be made at any Republic Bank branch in the name of the "Abdi children."

Police have said a blown tire may have contributed to the wreck.
