NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A joint operation led to the discovery of a large, indoor marijuana growing operation during a raid at a home in Smyrna.
A tip led detectives to a home on Miller Estates Road on Wednesday night. They discovered more than three dozen plants, from seedlings to large, mature plants ready for harvest.
Police said the operation used a sophisticated hydroponics system that could produce approximately $250,000 worth of marijuana for resale per year.
Detectives spent much of the night there processing the scene. All materials were confiscated, along with several weapons and more than $1,000 in cash.
Police said they were unable to release the names of suspects since it is an ongoing investigation, but charges were pending.
Smryna Police were assisted by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department and Rutherford County Sheriff's Office.
