Sheriff: Kentucky Couple Swapped Truck For Infant

Posted: Updated:

CORBIN, Ky. (AP) - Investigators are searching for a woman they said traded her infant to a Corbin couple for a 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup truck, which she then sold for $800.

Laurel County Sheriff John Root said 30-year-old Heather Kaminskey is wanted on charges of human trafficking, but hasn't been seen in Laurel County for several days.

Root told the Lexington Herald-Leader that Kaminskey traded the infant, now 6-months-old to 31-year-old Jeremy Brown and 33-year-old Jamiee Brown. The couple is charged with human trafficking.

Sheriff's Lt. Rodney Van Zant told The Times-Tribune that a tip led investigators to the Browns' home.

Van Zant said the child is in state custody.

The Browns remained in the Laurel County Jail on Friday. Jail records did not list an attorney for either.
