NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A violent robbery at a Madison barber shop ended with a barber injured and a standoff at a nearby home.
Police said two men entered the Images Braids and Barbershop around 11 p.m. Thursday. They robbed the barbers and the patrons inside before shooting one of the barbers in the arm. He was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and released.
The robbers fled the scene after stealing a car from one of the barbers, and went to a nearby neighborhood. K-9 dogs tracked their scent to a vacant home on Bellshire Terrace. The suspects barricaded themselves inside, prompting a standoff for several hours.
Officers entered the home around 3 a.m., but found it empty. They discovered stolen items in a shed, and articles of clothing on the roof.
Police said the two men are considered armed and dangerous.
"These people that do this type of crime will be bragging about it. I guarantee you that. They'll be telling everybody what they did, and they'll be proud of it," said Metro Police detective Robert Swishur.
Police said they believe the suspects, who were described as black males between 18 and 20 years old, are familiar with the area. The man who had the gun had dreadlocks with red tips.
