NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - About 100 soldiers from the National Guard's Nashville-based 230th Signal Co. are scheduled to return home on Friday.
The soldiers have spent the past year in Afghanistan.
According to a news release from the Guard, the soldiers began their out-processing in Fort Dix, N.J., earlier this week. They will complete that process at the volunteer training site in Smyrna.
The soldiers are scheduled to arrive there at 3:30 p.m.
More than 27,000 Tennessee Army and Air National Guardsmen have deployed since September 11, 2001.
