ALTAMONT, Tenn. (AP) - A Grundy County grand jury has indicted a man who was shot by sheriff's deputies.
According to the Chattanooga Times Free Press, Richard Fults of Altamont faces two counts of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of resisting arrest.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation and said the 33-year-old Fults tried to slash deputies who came to arrest him for violating probation last month.
The TBI said deputies found Fults hiding in a closet of his home and he refused to put down a knife. A deputy shot him in both shoulders and the chest.
