LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Police have made an arrest in the unsolved 1994 slayings of two women at a southern Kentucky massage parlor, and the man in custody is a former Oak Grove police officer who was involved in the investigation.

Kentucky State Police said 49-year-old Leslie Duncan of Central City was arrested Thursday and charged with tampering with physical evidence. Duncan is being held in the Christian County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

State police Trooper Stu Recke said Friday that Duncan was the lead investigator for Oak Grove police in the grisly case.

Recke calls the arrest the first big step toward solving the murders, which happened at the New Life Massage Parlor in Oak Grove.

The victims were 21-year-old Candida Belt and 18-year-old Gloria Ross. They were found shot and stabbed.
