CLARKSVILLE,
Tenn.- A man has died after what is being called an accidental shooting.
Around
5:30 p.m. Saturday, Clarksville Police Department officers responded to a shots
fired call inside a South 3rd Street apartment. When officers arrived, they
said they found Gregory Premus, 28, was hit in the torso.
Upon
initial investigation, police said Premus and Robert Brown, 30, were handling a
loaded handgun when the gun unintentionally discharged and hit Premus. Police said the two men were friends.
Medics
rushed Premus to Gateway
Medical Center, but officials said he was pronounced dead there. Police are
continuing their investigation and the body has been transported to Nashville
for autopsy. As of Sunday evening no charges had been filed.
