NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was shot in the hand after a gunman opened fire on his vehicle in south Nashville.
The victim, identified as 18-year-old Dana Noroly, told police he was going to an engagement party at a home on Jonquil Drive. He was trying to parallel park on the street around 10:40 p.m. Sunday when a man walked up to his vehicle and opened fire. Police said they recovered 18 shell casings, and the victim's car was struck eight times.
Noroly attempted to drive in reverse but there were cars parked behind him, so he got out and fled on foot.
Noroly, who was shot in the hand, was taken by friends to Southern Hills Hospital. He was treated and released. Police said Noroly is one of the alleged Kurdish Pride Gang members who were barred from meeting with each other by a judge last month.
The gunman, who was wearing dark clothing, was seen by a witness get into a black Chevrolet Malibu after the shooting.
Police continue to investigate.
