NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A motorcyclist was killed Sunday afternoon in a crash in north Nashville.

Police said 54-year-old Andre Vaughn was riding his 1981 Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Dickerson Pike around 4 p.m. when a Kia Sorento SUV pulled into his path as it turned from Dickerson Pike northbound onto Bellshire Drive.

Vaughn was taken to Skyline Medical Center where he died.

Michell Weddell, 35, who was driving the SUV, was not injured. She told officers she did not see the motorcycle.

There was no evidence of alcohol or drugs in the crash. Police said Weddell's failure to yield was a contributing factor.

No charges have been filed. The investigation is ongoing.
