Man Charged With Arson Of North Nashville Home

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was arrested for allegedly trying to set a house on fire after an argument with the resident.

Firefighters put out a small fire on the back porch door of a home on Toney Road around 3 a.m. Tuesday.

Derrick Giles told police he and Alton Wyatt were arguing over some missing money, when Wyatt took off.

A short time later, Giles found his back porch door engulfed in flames and Wyatt was in the backyard.

Police later arrested Wyatt, and charged him with aggravated arson.
