Great Hearts Academy Appeals Again To Metro Schools

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Great Hearts Academy hopes the third time is the charm following their appeal to the state board of education.

The Arizona-based charter operation took its fight to open new schools in Metro Nashville to the state level Tuesday afternoon. This is after the Metro School board turned its application down not once, but twice citing diversity and transportation concerns.

"This afternoon was really our first opportunity to address the claims of Metro Nashville Public Schools, why our application didn't meet their final decision," said Daniel Scoggin with Great Hearts.

A final decision from the state board is expected later this month.
