NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was killed and a woman was critically injured after a gunman opened fire outside a south Nashville apartment complex.
The couple was returning to the woman's apartment at Prestige Point Apartments on Paragon Mills Road around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday when a gunman approached them from behind and opened fire.
Shorish Faraj, 28, and his girlfriend, Guadalupe Garcia, 46, were shot multiple times, and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Faraj died from his injuries, and Garcia was listed in stable condition.
Neighbors reported seeing a gray/silver, newer model Chevrolet Impala, with a spoiler, driving slow in the parking lot before the shooting.
Police said a passenger got out of the Impala, and was seen walking toward where the victims were shot. After the shooting, neighbors saw someone running on foot toward the Impala, and leaving the complex.
It was possibly driven by a black man with dreadlocks.
Faraj was one of the men the recent gang injunction filed against alleged members of the Kurdish Pride Gang (KPG).
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
