Man Caught Hiding In Closet Sentenced

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The man convicted of hiding in the closet of a child's bedroom has learned his sentence.

On Wednesday, 30-year old James Towry was sentenced to six years in prison on Aggravated Burglary charges. In March a woman found him hiding in her child's closet inside her South Nashville home. She told police that heard noises, and went to investigate, and the man came running out of the closet.

Towry was able to make a run for it, but was caught a week later.

Detectives said that Towry has a lengthy criminal history. In June 2001, he was convicted of stalking. Police said he was caught naked wearing only a mask in a Nashville woman's backyard.
