NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A serious wreck involving at least six vehicles tied up traffic for several hours during the Wednesday evening commute.
The crash happened on Interstate 40, just the Elm Hill Pike exit at mile marker 219 around 5:30 p.m. A tractor trailer and five other passenger vehicles were involved. It was unclear how many people were injured in the crash.
Two lanes of eastbound traffic and two lanes of westbound traffic were blocked while crews worked to extricate patients and clear the scene. Traffic was backed up for several miles.
