Man Awaiting Trial In Killing Of Brother Dies

Posted: Updated:

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A Knox County man awaiting trial in the shotgun killing of his brother has died.

The Knoxville News Sentinel reported 51-year-old Jerry Stooksbury was out on bond when he died Monday. Stooksbury was charged with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of 47-year-old Steven Stooksbury a year ago.

A Knox County Sheriff's spokesman said the brothers argued at a home in western Knox County and Jerry Stooksbury left, but came back with a shotgun and killed his younger sibling.

An autopsy will be performed to determine how Jerry Stooksbury died.
