NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The Whites
Creek High School community endured the heat in order to kick off a
back-to-school celebration.
The administration of
Whites Creek High School hosted a community cookout Saturday. Students, parents
and teachers gathered at the school to start the year off right.
"We are charting a new
course-one leading to excellence-and we are excited about it," said Dr.
James Bailey, the school's new Executive Principal, a Whites Creek alum.
He said he's excited to
help transform the school into a place where the students and community can come
together.
"We are looking forward to
taking this school to the next level.
And just getting the community support, family involvement, the
students-- we want to let them know that we're here for them, and we're expecting
great things this year," said Bailey.
Those who attended enjoyed
food, drinks, door prizes, and music. There were also booths set up to give
back-to-school information to families and community members.
Metropolitan Nashville Public
Schools start on August first.
