NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Some dogs
may not like getting a bath, but for a good cause perhaps they'd reconsider.
Dogtopia Day Care, a national dog daycare
franchise, hosted its 8th annual
charity dog wash in the 12th South neighborhood. They put on the event each
year to help the K-9 Support organization, benefiting working dogs right here
in Nashville to those helping overseas. Through charity dog washes taking place
over the weekend of July 21-22, Dogtopia hopes to raise $25,000.
Proceeds from the dog wash
help ship supplies like cooling pads, protective eyewear, and treats.
"It's just a way we can
give back. The community gives a lot to us and any chance we have to give back
to the community is really what we're trying to accomplish," said Mark
Schottland, with Dogtopia.
According to organizers,
more than 50 dogs were washed Saturday.
