NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Good Samaritan took a gunshot victim to the hospital after shots rang out in a west Nashville neighborhood.

The victim told police that he was outside an apartment complex along Hillside Avenue when he heard gunfire around 11 p.m. Sunday. He ran for cover, but had been shot in the upper leg.

Police said they were unable to locate the crime scene, although they were able to find shell casings in the area.

The victim was taken by a good Samaritan to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said they will continue speaking with the victim as their investigation continues.
