MCMINNVILLE, Tenn. – A McMinnville woman is praising her cocker spaniel mix named Lady, after the dog woke her up out of bed when her mother began experiencing renal failure two weeks ago.
"She just wouldn't quit whining," explains Deborah Green.
Deborah thought her mom Ann Logue, 71, was merely sleeping in her bedroom, but when she heard Lady barking and whining she decided to go in and check.
"I wouldn't have woke up, the doctors said two more hours and she would've passed," she adds.
EMT's rushed Ann to the hospital where she's been for the last two weeks. Doctors think she'll eventually recover but Deborah knows her mother wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Lady's bark.
"It's incredible, people just don't know how smart their dog can be," she said.
