CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- The Clarksville Mayor is warning residents about an email scam that claims to be from the Clarksville Gas and Water company.
The scam comes in an email with the name Clarksville Gas and Water in the subject line. Receipts are then informed that they have won a free gift car. Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillian reminds residents that the official Clarksville Gas and Water Company would never instruct a customer to click on a link to accept or redeem any rewards, or ask for personal information in an unsolicited e-mail.
Residents are asked not to open any suspicious emails, or to click on any links within such emails or solicitations claiming to be from Clarksville Gas and Water to the Department.
