SMYRNA, Tenn. – Two men were taken by emergency medical helicopter to the hospital after a pickup truck crashed into a creek in Smyrna on Tuesday morning.
The truck crashed into a creek just before 5 a.m. on Morton Lane at Red Hawk Parkway, near Stewarts Creek Elementary.
The driver and passenger had to be extricated from the vehicle, and were taken by two Vanderbilt University Medical Center LifeFlight helicopters to the hospital. Both were listed in critical condition.
Investigators are still trying to determine how the truck left the roadway and crashed.
Morton Lane was shut down for hours between Almaville Road and Red Hawk Parkway while emergency crews investigated.
