NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Hundreds of millions of people around the world will tune in to the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics in London, and there are viewing parties in Nashville if you want to cheer on Team USA.

Local sports bars, like Sam's in Hillsboro Village, will hold viewing parties starting with the opening ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

London officials have been very good at keeping details of the show a secret, but they said it will cost about $42 million.

The person in charge of the show is the same Academy Award Winning director behind the movie "Slumdog Millionaire." He said in the opening ceremony there will be farm animals on meadows and a dance number with nurses and a closing by Paul McCartney.

There is much anticipation on what the opening ceremony will be like in London. Many people fear that it won't live up to the hype of the Beijing opening ceremony in 2008.
