Metro Police Debut Nissan Crime Stoppers Truck

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Metropolitan-Nashville Police Department showed off a new Crime Stoppers truck on Friday.

Nissan donated the Titan pickup truck.

Police chief Steve Anderson said the Crime Stoppers truck will appear at various community events, parades, and even at the scene of violent crimes.

"Over the past 29 years, citizens' tips to Crime Stoppers have been directly responsible for solving more than 200 murders, 700 armed robberies, and more than 300 burglaries," Anderson said. "Those tips have led to the apprehension of more than 4,000 fugitives. The more ways we can publicize Crime Stoppers, the safer Nashville will be."

Police said it will also be used as a roving Crime Stoppers Billboard.
