Woman Indicted In Wrong Way Crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A grand jury has indicted a woman who triggered a deadly wrong-way crash on I-65 for vehicular homicide.

In February 2012, Police said that 22-year-old Rebecca Benson got behind the wheel of her SUV after a night of drinking and started heading southbound in the northbound lanes of I-65. Benson entered the interstate going the wrong way in her 2006 Lexus RX 330 around 4 a.m. Wednesday. She then struck a 2000 Chevrolet Ventura van head-on on I-65 North near Wedgewood Ave. The driver of the van, 29-year-old Steffanie Leonard, died at the scene.

Investigators said Benson was so intoxicated- she thought she was riding in a taxi, instead of driving her own car.
