HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn.- A Hendersonville nurse told her story about finding herself in the middle of a tragedy while on vacation in Colorado.
Mia Bransford was watching the Dark Knight Rises at a theater in Aurora last week. She was just a couple doors down from where James Holmes opened fire on moviegoers.
Bransford said once she got outside, her medical training kicked in, and she did what she could.
"Even though I was with a firefighter he had absolutely no medical equipment with him and we just did the best that we could until more help could arrive." she explained. " We didn't know how many gunman, or if he had been apprehended so there was a part of me that was still looking around trying to make sure I wasn't going to get caught in the crossfire or anything like that,"
Bransford said first responders did an excellent job. She says she's thankful to be back home safe.
