NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Saturday
was the day football fans have been waiting for as the Titans got their 2012
season officially underway. The Tennessee Titans held their first training camp
practice at Baptist Sports Park.
Training camp is a sure
sign football is back, and with their practice on Saturday, the Titans were one
of the last NFL teams to hold a training camp practice. The Titans hit the
field around 4:00 p.m. for their second year under Head Coach Mike Munchak. Munchak
says he's excited about the new season, and he has a number of position battles
on his hand this summer; the most notable being the quarterback battle between
Matt Hasselbeck and Jake Locker.
The one Titans' player not
at training camp Saturday was their number one draft pick, the rookie wide
receiver out of Baylor, Kendall Wright. He has yet to sign his contract.
Saturday's practice was open to players and
media only, but Sunday evening at 6:30, practice will be open to the public.
