NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The struggling economy has a new victim: young families
A study by Demographic Intelligence shows that birth rates in the US will likely continue to drop to its lowest level since the Great Depression.
"I currently am pregnant but financially it has taken a toll on us both," said Rachel Hanson.
Hanson said she and her husband have dealt with the economic downturn by budgeting.
"Economy and job loss are reasons we halted adoption plans. Not sure we will ever catch up," said Leslie Yost.
Research indicated that the birth rate it not expected to rebound for at least two years.
