Three Injured In Early Morning Crash On I-65N In Franklin

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Three people were seriously injured in an early morning crash that backed up traffic for miles on Interstate 65 northbound in Franklin.

Police said a semi-truck rear-ended a car just after 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at McEwen Drive.

Three people in the car, a 66-year-old man, a 62-year-old woman, and a 50-year-old woman, all from Alabama, were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries.

The driver of the semi, also from Alabama, was not injured.

The Franklin Police Department's Critical Incident Response Team is investigating. No charges have been filed yet.

All but the right lane had re-opened by 7:30 a.m. Sky 5 HD showed traffic backed up for approximately eight miles to exit 59.
