NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Early voting totals have shattered a previous record for an August election set in 2008.
A release from Secretary of State Tre Hargett said 326,876 Tennesseans voted early or absentee by mail before early voting ended Saturday. The previous record set in August 2008 was 217,441.
The release reminded voters to bring a state- or federally-issued photo ID to the polls with them in order to cast ballots Thursday.
