CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities are looking for suspects in the shooting death of House Majority Leader Gerald McCormick's father-in-law, who was gunned down in a robbery over the weekend.
The Chattanooga Times Free Press reports Winston Gant was shot outside his front door at his home and business, Gant's Towing, around 1 a.m. Saturday in Red Bank.
Police said Gant died at a local hospital Wednesday morning. He was the father of the Chattanooga Republican's wife, Kim.
A female employee and friend of the family was also robbed, but not injured.
Police say they're working with neighboring law enforcement agencies to identify suspects.
