NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Mother Nature could be to blame for a house fire in west Nashville overnight.
Homeowners at a house on Fleetwood Drive smelled smoke around 11 p.m. Wednesday. When they went outside, they found the corner of their house on fire.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, but fire officials said lightning could have hit the house during an earlier storm. That could have caused sparks to smolder before it grew into a fire.
The home suffered minor damage, but the house was not a total loss.
No one was hurt.
