Blake Shelton’s Twitter Turtle Controversy

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Blake Shelton's twitter account has generated some controversy recently all over a turtle.

The country singer tweeted last Friday, "Does anyone know if the Eastern Box turtle is protected in Oklahoma? If so, I didn't just swerve to the shoulder of the road to smash one..."

When twitter users started taking him to task over the comment, Shelton told them to quote -"shut up" and alluded to how much more money he made than them.

But only one day later Shelton decided it wasn't worth it and sent out this tweet "Ok.. Now that "Turtle-Gate" is over I want to apologize for my ignorant joke.. I never ran over a turtle,"

Turns out, Shelton wasn't even in Oklahoma at the time he sent out the tweet.
