FRANKLIN, Tenn.- When the
United Way put out a call to pack the bus with school supplies, the
response was overwhelming.
The United Way of
Williamson County hosted "The Big Backpack Giveaway" at Liberty Elementary
school in Franklin Saturday. Students big and small, picked up bags loaded with
all the essentials needed to get the school year off to a good start.
"In these hard economic
times, we find that if we can help in just a little way in giving parents and
children the tools they need for school, then that's going to be a good thing,"
said Kristi Sylvester, Grace Works.
Anyone who missed Saturday's
event will have another opportunity next Saturday at Fairview High School.
