NASHVILLE, Tenn.- After showers and storms on Saturday, more rain and storms will be possible Sunday evening as a cold front pushes down into the area. Some of the storms Sunday afternoon and evening may be strong to severe with a threat for gusty winds and hail.
While some are watching out for severe weather, people in Sumner County have already seen a lot of rain and some flooding. For the most part, the water receded by Sunday night, but they were dealing with flash flooding Sunday afternoon. The rain was coming down at a rate of two inches or more an hour around noon.
Many culverts and small streams overflowed their banks and took over the roads. On Monday, drier air will keep rain chances confined to mainly southern areas.
