Family Loses Home and Pets in Fire

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn.- A family has lost their home and their pets after a fire Sunday.

The family wasn't home when the fire started at a home on West Monticello Drive in Goodlettsville. Investigators say it looks like they left an appliance on in the kitchen that started everything. Firefighters said even though the outside looks untouched, the inside was destroyed.

Two exotic birds died in the fire.
