LAFAYETTE, Tenn.- Police are warning Lafayette residents about a criminal posing as a Pizza Hut employee is trying to steal credit card information over the phone.

Officials said at least 15 people have called police in Lafayette saying someone claiming to be with Pizza Hut called them and said a credit card they used at the store didn't go through so they need the numbers again. In each case, the caller I-D has said "Pizza Hut" but investigators say they know it's not coming from the local store.

Police advise people to simply avoid giving out information over the phone to people they don't know.
